About the job
As a Financial Accountant,
you will oversee all elements of accounting, statutory, and taxation.
Financial reporting.
Overall Responsibilities:
The primary functions and tasks are:
- Responsible for ensuring that the underlying books are full and accurate.
records (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement), generating the trial
balance,
Creating the numerous financial reports needed for local management.
- Coordinate with the project controller on project billing and aging balance.
- Recording all transactions (customer and supplier invoices, inter-company
invoices,
Managing payments and receipts in QuickBooks Accounting Software, guaranteeing
accurate entries.

- Ensure appropriate filing and archiving of cloud and physical data.
- Monthly reconciliation of cash and bank accounts, as well as inter-company
accounts.
Quarterly basis
- Entering month-end entries as part of the closure operation.
- Determines and reports tax concerns.
- Communicate sometimes with the bank.
- Coordinate with TRACTEBEL Shared Service Finance in Brussels to ensure that
Reliability and accuracy of financial information submitted into SAP Promise
- Prepare payments (cash and bank) and get necessary permission of the payments
as per our
group processes and recorded in the system
- Communicates with auditors during internal and external audits.
- Audit financial transactions and paperwork.
- Any extra obligations assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager and CFO.
Location & Reporting Line
Based in Dubai, UAE.
Reporting Line and Key Relationships
- Reports to the Financial Accounting Manager.
- Finance community (accounting team, Corporate team for tax, insurance, and
external
Auditors, etc.)
- Information technology (both external and internal)
Management: no direct line management duties, but contact with the Project
Controller.
Accounting teams in the Middle East and Brussels.
Requirements
Education
A university degree or equivalent in accounting or finance.
Candidates with professional qualifications will be preferred (ACCA, CA, CPA,
CFA).
Language
Strong and great communication skills in English. One of the following
languages (Arabic, French)
is a bonus.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience.
- Strong grasp of financial statement analysis.
- Adequate knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent understanding of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
- Knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting system is certainly a bonus.
- Capable of managing various and fluctuating priorities and operating in an
unclear environment.
A hectic atmosphere with strict deadlines and high expectations.
Technology
Capable of working with contemporary communication and collaboration systems
(Teams, SharePoint...).
Business Understanding
Knowledge of engineering consulting activities (e.g., power generation,
T&D, energy transition)
(Urban, etc....).
